About the position

The Primary Care Pediatrician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is responsible for evaluating, treating, and managing both sick and well patients from birth to 18 years old. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with office administration and nursing staff, and participation in educational and research activities. The physician will also supervise clinical providers, ensure high-quality care, and engage in administrative duties to support the practice's operations and compliance with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, treat, and manage sick and well patients in a community pediatric primary care office.
  • Document medical findings in EPIC and provide support to patients and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with office administration and nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
  • Supervise clinical providers including resident physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide evening and Saturday coverage as needed.
  • Counsel patients on vaccines and order labs and testing as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and support for resident/medical student education curriculum.
  • Support and lead Primary Care research activities and oversee ongoing research at the practice.
  • Assist with management of practice operations and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of performance outcomes and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Medical) from Medical School and Pediatric Residency Program Required
  • Management or supervisory experience in an ambulatory care academic setting or medical office setting Required
  • Some experience with fiscal management and human resource management Required
  • Medical License from Pennsylvania or New Jersey State Licensing Board upon hire Required
  • Medical Board Certification in Pediatrics upon hire Required
  • DEA License upon hire Required

Nice-to-haves
