About the position
Optum FL is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our team in Kissimmee, FL. This role is integral to the Optum Care Delivery team, focusing on improving healthcare for everyone through a collaborative and supportive environment. The physician will work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, primarily to a geriatric patient panel, while adhering to a quality vs. quantity model that emphasizes quality care over patient volume.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients, addressing physical, mental, and social health needs.
- Manage a patient panel predominantly consisting of geriatric patients with Medicare Advantage coverage.
- Adhere to a quality vs. quantity model, typically seeing 12 to 15 patients per day.
- Participate in quality metrics to earn bonus incentives.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or M.B.B.S.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Florida or the ability to obtain it prior to employment.
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain it prior to employment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency.
