About the position

The Family Physician position at Manheim involves providing high-level, patient-centered care in Family Medicine. The role includes managing patient consultations, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The physician will also participate in hospital committees and assist in recruiting new staff, while maintaining necessary certifications and continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with patients to determine appropriate treatment courses.
  • Recommend and order tests to diagnose conditions.
  • Monitor lab results and medication adherence.
  • Prescribe or administer treatments, therapies, and medications.
  • Explain procedures and test results to patients.
  • Coordinate care with nurses, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.
  • Represent the practice at hospital committees.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing new physicians and staff.
  • Attend Directors' and Committee meetings.
  • Acquire necessary CME credits and maintain certification.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or Board eligible.
  • Current medical licensure issued by PA State Board of Medicine or PA State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Successful completion of Family Medicine Residency.
  • Prior experience in clinical medicine as a Family Physician.
  • Good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least three years of clinical patient care experience as a specialist in Family Medicine.
