About the position
The Primary Care Physician role at WellMed in Ft. Myers, FL, is designed for clinicians who are passionate about providing comprehensive care to a predominantly geriatric patient panel. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers.
- Provide comprehensive care to patients, addressing physical, mental, and social health needs.
- Manage a patient panel primarily consisting of geriatric patients with Medicare Advantage coverage.
- Adhere to a quality vs. quantity model, typically seeing 14 to 16 patients per day.
- Participate in quality metrics to earn bonus incentives.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or M.B.B.S.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Florida or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency.
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment.
