Responsibilities

  • Initiate referrals and consultations to other clinical services as needed.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, recommending treatment or referral based on results.
  • Document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, and treatment plans using the electronic patient record system.
  • Respond to alerts indicating diagnostic test abnormalities and health line requests from veterans and their families.
  • Follow performance measure guidelines and ensure compliance with clinical reminders and customer service standards.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state or territory.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible.

  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
