The Electrical Engineer position at Collins Aerospace is a critical role responsible for electrical hardware design and integration, encompassing a wide range of activities throughout the product development lifecycle. This includes requirements management, component derating, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, and the design of DC-DC or AC power supplies. The engineer will engage in troubleshooting and support activities during all phases of product development, including qualification and validation testing. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of electrical design principles and the ability to create schematics, operational diagrams, and written descriptions that ensure compliance with electrical design requirements. In this position, the engineer will own the electrical hardware design and all lifecycle activities associated with it. This includes the development of supporting test articles, fixtures, wire harnesses, and representative loads necessary for design, qualification, or production use. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring product reliability and manufacturability, meeting regulatory and customer specifications, and identifying and mitigating design risks. Participation in design reviews, mentoring team members, and suggesting improvements to products and processes are also key responsibilities.
