About the position

The Principal Procurement Specialist at Raytheon will manage complex procurement activities related to machining, sheet metal, and casting commodities. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. The specialist will also represent the Supply Chain organization in various functional teams and maintain supplier relationships to align performance with business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business partner relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead procurement activities and serve as the focal point for supplier performance.
  • Participate in capture/proposal efforts and review requirements flow-down.
  • Generate RFI/RFQ/RFP documentation as needed.
  • Perform price and/or cost analysis in compliance with FAR and DFARS requirements.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead multi-functional negotiation teams.
  • Negotiate price, schedule, and terms & conditions with suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Prepare purchase order documentation in compliance with regulations and company policy.
  • Manage various contract types such as Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, etc.
  • Communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with a minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Experience in the defense industry and familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.
  • Experience with NDA/PIAs, RFx, and Purchase Orders activities.
  • Ability to analyze proposals from suppliers and conduct investigations for cost and schedule performance.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contractual requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to perform duties with minimal oversight in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across a matrix organization.
  • Willingness to travel domestically when necessary.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of machining commodities and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
  • Prior experience with multiple subcontract types including FFP, T&M, CPFF, and CPIF.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Active U.S. government issued security clearance preferred.
