About the position

The Principal Account Executive, SLED at Veracode is responsible for managing relationships with State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) accounts. This role involves overseeing the full sales cycle, from prospecting to implementation, and establishing Veracode as a trusted IT security advisor. The position requires a strategic approach to attract and close business with new prospects while leveraging relationships with regional resellers and technology partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of assigned SLED accounts, from prospecting to implementation of solutions.
• Conduct full sales cycle including outbound prospecting, building pipeline, and closing business.
• Create and execute a strategic territory plan to attract and close business with new prospects.
• Accurately forecast and deliver a predictable sales cycle, engaging with upper management on at-risk deals.
• Challenge and consult with customers to inspire innovative thinking beyond immediate needs.
• Participate in industry-leading events and continuous sales training opportunities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of enterprise government SaaS sales experience.
• Solid understanding of government procurement processes and contracting vehicles.
• Experience identifying government budget funding and understanding government go-to-market sales motions.
• Goal-oriented and driven to exceed quota with a growth mindset.
• Passion and commitment to security, motivated by customer peace of mind.
• Team player in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
