About the position

SAIC is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to support the NSWC Crane Strategic Systems Hardware Division in establishing the Navy Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Missile Body In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA). This role focuses on the long-term sustainment of the system, including in-service upgrades, parts management, repair, and general engineering support. The candidate will be involved in strategic planning for product sustainment, product development, and Navy training, while also providing engineering services and support for the CPS leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Devise strategy, roles and responsibilities, and procedures for the Missile ISEA role.
  • Decompose ISEA key tasks and activities.
  • Conduct interviews and fact-finding with Navy ISEA organizations to understand missile ISEA considerations and tasks.
  • Assess current capabilities to identify strengths and capability gaps for the Missile ISEA role.
  • Develop plans, coordinate work teams, and lead technical working groups.
  • Provide technical support to Crane CPS leadership.
  • Support the management team with effective communication and proactive problem solving.
  • Document Joint ISEA Teaming Strategy between NSWC Crane and NUWC Newport.
  • Identify ISEA costs to inform Program Life Cycle Cost Estimate.
  • Establish Product Support Agreements.
  • Perform Technical and Business Case Analysis for ISEA tools and processes.
  • Contribute to APM and Canister Product Support Analyses.
  • Plan for Shipboard/Shipyard Installation, tests, and inspections.
  • Recommend improvements to test procedures and equipment.
  • Review and recommend improvements for APL, COSAL, and provide technical support and drawing reviews.
  • Review and update equipment installation control drawings (ICDs).
  • Support planning for Navy Training and manning.
  • Identify and plan for Certification and Accreditation approvals.
  • Ensure processes are in place for documenting and managing changes to CPS Weapons system design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline and fourteen years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and twelve years of relevant DoD ISEA experience (Navy, Army, AirForce, MDA, NASA).
  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
