We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our Sensors, Electromagnetics and EW Department, which is part of MITRE Labs' Electronic Systems and Technologies Innovation Center. This department is committed to designing, prototyping, evaluating, testing, and fielding disruptive solutions in technology areas such as antennas, sensors, signal processing, satellite communications, and electronic warfare. We are looking for candidates who are not only technically skilled but also motivated to contribute to our mission and grow within our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and develop innovative, transformational solutions to antenna and electromagnetics related challenges and capability gaps for both fielded and developmental systems.
  • Develop and utilize a variety of electromagnetic solvers and self-developed MATLAB (or equivalent) code for design development, test and evaluation, performance modeling at the system and sub-system level.
  • Participate in data collections, conduct experiments and perform data analyses.
  • Evaluate technologies, identify risks, and develop alternate solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate antenna requirements for both fielded and developmental systems.
  • Participate in MITRE Labs' presence in peer-reviewed publications, patent submissions, and external conferences/workshops.
  • Support and lead work shaping and proposal development efforts to expand our work program into new areas.
  • Engage in personal career and technical growth as well as the growth of others through mentoring, training, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 7 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 4 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience in antenna and electromagnetics engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience performing design engineering, test, and field work.
  • Respected and viewed as a technical leader.
  • Significant work shaping experience with a focus on quality and impact.
  • Has had substantial sponsor interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts simply and concisely, making needed connections, and bridging across domains as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging resources beyond your immediate organization.
  • Achieved an increased demand for technical expertise through partnerships with other organizations.
  • Proven experience fostering career growth of staff through mentoring, training, and collaboration.
  • Successful experience in developing improved sponsor relationships leading to an expansion of your organization's impact to a mission area.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or PhD in electrical engineering, math, or physics
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW)
  • Holds a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
