About the position

The Principal Application Developer at ADP is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web applications that support both internal and external clients. This role involves working within a scrum team to bring innovative ideas to life, utilizing a variety of technologies and frameworks. The position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to mentor junior developers while ensuring the successful delivery of software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work within a scrum team to design and develop web applications.
• Collaborate with clients, product managers, architects, and software engineers to implement solutions.
• Lead and guide projects to success, mentoring junior developers.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including daily scrums and sprint demos.
• Review team work and help team members excel in an Agile environment.
• Communicate effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders about project milestones and achievements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications and backend services.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS platform/services.
• 5+ years of experience in building APIs using Python.
• 7+ years of experience in Java Enterprise Technologies.
• Experience with Node.JS, REST, and JSON.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and patterns.
• Experience with Databricks, SQL, and NoSQL data stores.
• Experience working with Jenkins and Terraform.
• Experience with UI development using Angular/React.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience playing a Tech Lead role.
