The CORE Power Team at Renesas is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Principal Applications Engineer to lead the development and qualification of high-performance DC-DC power converter products. This role is pivotal in collaborating with Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) and external customers to transition these innovative products into production. Renesas' advanced control architectures present a challenging yet rewarding environment for strong engineers, where they can push the boundaries of technology in our products. As a Principal Applications Engineer, you will engage in the entire product development cycle of power management integrated circuits (ICs), including Buck Regulators, Boost and Buck-Boost Architectures, Power Management ICs (PMICs), and multi-phase regulators. Your primary responsibilities will encompass defining innovative and differentiated products at the product level, validating and characterizing these products, and creating technical documentation such as datasheets, application notes, and design guidelines. You will also be responsible for setting up and executing Simplis simulations of power converter circuits and systems, training Field Applications Engineers and customer engineers, and providing customer support, which may include offsite assistance at customer facilities. System-level testing and characterization will also be a key part of your role, requiring close collaboration with local and remote teams, including design, test, product, reliability engineering, and marketing. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence design architecture development, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
