About the position

The Principal Application System Sales Engineer (PDM) at Honeywell plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of a business strategy aimed at achieving growth rates that exceed market averages. This position leverages various resources including product technology, new product development, open innovation, and the voice of the customer to enhance the current product portfolio. The PDM collaborates closely with Senior Business Leaders and the Customer Success Organization to identify and drive strategic business opportunities that align with the company's goals. In this role, the PDM partners with Sellers on strategic opportunities to ensure the effective receipt of Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and clarifications. They work alongside offering management to articulate the value proposition, which informs the proposal narrative and overall strategy. The PDM is responsible for generating commercial and technical proposals, reviewing them, and signing off on risks and customer clarifications, ensuring all points are addressed to facilitate closure. Additionally, the PDM is tasked with driving maximum value from the Unit of Production (UOP) and plays a pivotal role in the ideation and improvement of next-generation New Product Introductions (NPI). They provide business guidance for future opportunities and contribute to the intake process. The PDM also reviews post-mortem sample analysis reports prepared for customers and owns the technical debriefs related to wins and losses, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of business strategy to achieve growth greater than market rates.
  • Partner with Sellers on strategic opportunities to drive receipt of RFQ & clarification.
  • Collaborate with offering management to define value and inform proposal narratives.
  • Generate, review, and sign-off on commercial & technical proposals, addressing risks and customer clarifications.
  • Drive maximum UOP value in proposals and projects.
  • Facilitate next-generation NPI ideation and model improvements.
  • Provide business guidance for subsequent opportunities and contribute to the intake process.
  • Review post-mortem sample analysis reports for customers.
  • Own the win/loss technical debrief process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of Sales Technical Specialist (STS) experience.
