About the position

As a Principal Application System Sales Engineer at Honeywell, you will leverage your extensive subject matter expertise to influence customers towards Honeywell's innovative solutions. This role involves providing both external and internal consultations, assisting Honeywell teams in developing and maintaining effective product messaging, customer support, and training. You will play a crucial role in driving cross-functional alignment to meet customer needs, participating in pursuit strategy planning, and engaging in customer negotiations. Additionally, you may consult prospective users on product capabilities and provide valuable insights for product development. In this position, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships within the South East region, showcasing Honeywell's lifecycle solutions, which include migrations, software, periodic programs, and essential enablers such as cybersecurity and sustainability. You will build and manage a sales pipeline to support the Regional Sales team in expanding the Services business. Your strategic focus will include developing Migration Account Plans (MAPS) for Honeywell's install base, particularly for systems like Distributed Control, Network Infrastructure, and Cyber Security. Your expertise in software solutions such as TRACE, Digital PRIME, Experion Software Suite, and Cyber Security will be vital as you align customer operational needs with Honeywell's automation solutions roadmap. You will also contribute to New Product Initiatives (NPI) and provide compelling value propositions for initiatives like Workforce Excellence and Connected PLC Migrations. Coaching both internal and external teams on technical offerings and their associated value will be a key aspect of your role, as will supporting sales teams in developing accurate proposals and presenting business cases to customer stakeholders. This position requires an average of 60% travel, reflecting the dynamic nature of customer engagement and relationship building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Deep technical knowledge in Distributed Control Systems, Safety Systems, and their integration with HMI/SCADA.
  • Application engineering expertise across relevant domains.
  • Proven experience interfacing with customers, EPC contractors, consulting engineers, OEMs, and in system integration.
  • Track record in managing Control System Platform Migration projects within management and consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and navigate competitive landscapes in the industry.
