About the position

The Principal Applied Scientist role within the Artificial General Intelligence Data Service (AGI-DS) team focuses on leveraging deep learning to develop advanced technologies with Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems. This position involves technical leadership, driving scientific and technological decisions, and collaborating with colleagues to innovate and enhance customer experiences through cutting-edge products and services. The role requires a strong emphasis on research, experimentation, and translating findings into practical applications, while also participating in organizational planning and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Drive science and technology decisions that shape the development of algorithms and models.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to lead the development of advanced modeling techniques.
  • Innovate model-in-the-loop and human-in-the-loop approaches for data collection.
  • Ensure data privacy and security for LLM training.
  • Define key research directions and adopt or invent new machine learning techniques.
  • Conduct rigorous experiments and publish results.
  • Translate research into practice and develop long-term strategies.
  • Participate in organizational planning, hiring, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • Serve as a key scientific resource in full-cycle development.

Requirements

  • PhD with specialization in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, or computational cognitive science.
  • 10+ years of combined academic and research experience.
  • Strong publication record in top-tier journals and conferences.
  • Functional thought leader with the ability to sell ideas to executive decision makers.
  • Experience mentoring and training the scientist community on complex technical issues.
  • Experience developing software in traditional programming languages (C++, Java, etc.).
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
