About the position

The Principal Architect - Cloud Data at Infoblox is a strategic leadership role focused on driving the company's data analytics technology and innovation strategy. This position involves leading large-scale machine learning projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers to enhance data quality and develop predictive models. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate long-term technological investments, prioritizing them based on feasibility and alignment with business needs
  • Lead and execute large-scale machine learning projects that deliver measurable benefits to the business
  • Provide technical leadership for complex, cross-functional data analytics projects
  • Champion the design and implementation of high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to improve data quality and build robust data warehouses
  • Mentor fellow engineers, sharing expertise on designing and operating reliable distributed systems at scale

Requirements

  • 20+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience in analytics, AI/ML including generative AI, and real-time data processing
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Proficiency in ETL orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster) with deep expertise in SQL, PySpark, or Scala
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud suite (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and application performance characteristics
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and developing data architecture and engineering solutions for massive data volumes
  • Proven ability to formulate solutions based on abstract information and translate them into actionable plans
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
