About the position

The Principal Architect - Cloud Data at Infoblox is a strategic leadership role focused on driving innovation in data analytics technology, particularly in generative AI and machine learning. This position is pivotal in evaluating technological investments, leading large-scale machine learning projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality and develop predictive models. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in software engineering and data architecture, with a strong emphasis on delivering business outcomes and mentoring fellow engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate long-term technological investments, prioritizing them based on feasibility and alignment with business needs.
  • Lead and execute large-scale machine learning projects that deliver measurable benefits to the business.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex, cross-functional data analytics projects.
  • Champion the design and implementation of high-performance data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to improve data quality and build robust data warehouses.
  • Mentor fellow engineers, sharing expertise on designing and operating reliable distributed systems at scale.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in analytics, AI/ML including generative AI, and real-time data processing.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Proficiency in ETL orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster) with deep expertise in SQL, PySpark, or Scala.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud suite (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and application performance characteristics.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and developing data architecture and engineering solutions for massive data volumes.
  • Proven ability to formulate solutions based on abstract information and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar technical field.
