The Principal Architect - Network focuses on understanding the enterprise architecture vision and ensuring that various cross-functional teams are aligning their initiatives to this overall vision. This translates into a network strategy that the Principal Architect - Network owns and implements. Additionally, the role has responsibility for the Network design framework and the key elements associated with it including quality, security, privacy, and data life cycle management. The Principal Architect will articulate the current enterprise architectural network vision, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches and creating models to communicate the strategic direction. This position requires a technologist with a hands-on approach to understanding various network integration methods and performing research to remain current with the latest industry technologies, trends, and best practices. The Principal Architect will develop WAN and public cloud connectivity designs that ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. They will provide leadership and guidance on how to structure and where to store data to meet analytical and business needs. Setting standards for the network automation framework and software-defined networks (SDN) to improve agility, scalability, and flexibility is also a key responsibility. The Principal Architect will provide guidance, leadership, and expertise to define solution architecture and strategies across various departments throughout the enterprise. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders is essential to identify requirements, evaluate options, perform risk analysis, conduct prototyping/POCs, complete cost-benefit analysis, evaluate vendors, publish tech decisions, and assist in implementation strategies. The Principal Architect - Network will also assist the Network Leadership team by providing support and mentoring to the engineering team, fostering accountability throughout the team.
