About the position

The Principal Design Lead for Restaurant Design Templates & Standards is a key member of the Design Integration team, responsible for overseeing the refinement and maintenance of restaurant design templates and standards. This role involves training stakeholders in Restaurant Development on new or revised design initiatives, gathering feedback from end users, and ensuring that building designs meet or exceed industry standards. The position requires strategic communication and collaboration with various internal teams to enhance project execution efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic design leadership and direction of restaurant templates and standards, managing content and improving user experience.
  • Foster collaboration across the Chick-fil-A organization, engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effectiveness of templates.
  • Identify, lead, and develop design partners, vendors, and agencies to support ongoing enhancements of templates and standards.
  • Develop communication processes to prepare, communicate, and educate key groups on new and updated design initiatives, establishing one voice across the business.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and Integration Readiness teams to gain insights into upcoming design initiatives for new restaurant templates and standards.
  • Lead teams of external partners for continued template support and maintenance of design standards.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive documentation of tools for using templates and standards.
  • Lead communication opportunities to educate teams throughout Chick-fil-A, establishing one voice across the business.
  • Cultivate design and business acumen across the business for a better understanding of design principles and broader business strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, industrial design, or similar.
  • 8 years of professional work experience with at least 5 years in building design, architecture, or similar.
  • Proven track record of success in managing projects, initiatives, and vendor teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8+ years of professional work experience with at least 5 years in building design, architecture, or similar.
  • Restaurant design experience.
  • Professional architectural license and/or registration.
  • Experience with modeling application Revit.
