About the position

The Principal Associate, Content Designer at Capital One is responsible for crafting effective customer conversations and shaping user experiences by integrating content into the design process. This role emphasizes collaboration with various teams to understand customer needs and advocate for human-centered design, ensuring that all content is clear, engaging, and aligned with brand voice. The position involves conducting research, creating content for multiple channels, and participating in workshops to align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs and translate them into engaging digital experiences.
• Participate in translating complex ideas into understandable concepts that enhance the product experience.
• Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, ensuring products speak their language.
• Champion design-centered approaches grounded in product research and analysis, representing the perspective of content strategy and voice of the customer.
• Conduct research to understand customer needs and define necessary information throughout the user experience.
• Frame problems, define insights, and design new methodologies/practices to serve customer needs.
• Create new content experiences for native app, web, email, text, push, and letters, guiding others in the process.
• Ensure all content is clear, easy to understand, and written in natural language and brand voice.
• Facilitate and participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience in journalism, content creation for UI including websites and apps, and email, and/or information architecture disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with content creation for cross-channel experiences.
• Comfortable working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomes.
• Familiarity with working in an established design system and brand standards.
