About the position

The Principal Associate, UX/UI Designer - EPX.xd at Capital One is responsible for enhancing the user experience of internal enterprise products that improve associates' efficiency and effectiveness. This role emphasizes collaboration with technology, product, and business teams to create intuitive design solutions that advocate for user needs. The designer will engage in various design processes, from discovery to delivery, ensuring that the products meet customer expectations and align with the company's mission to innovate banking.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs and translate them into engaging design solutions.
  • Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, ideation, and user testing.
  • Support design-led workshops to engage and build alignment across different partners and teams.
  • Proactively recommend and champion design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
  • Connect with design community peers for learning, sharing, and teaching.
  • Participate in hiring by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and attending consensus.
  • Support early product definition by participating in discovery sessions to uncover customer pain points and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with design tools to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teams.
  • Participate in end-to-end product design, including creating process flows, wireframes, journey maps, and prototypes.
  • Design within existing and create new standards to contribute to the internal design system and best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience with UX and UI design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing for cross-channel experiences.
  • Comfortable working with Product and Tech partners.
  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Products, Sketch, and/or Figma.
  • Experience working with and contributing to an established design system.
