About the position

The Principal Business Analyst will support PG&E's Transportation Services team in optimizing fleet management strategies. This role involves developing and updating fleet policies, measuring project outcomes, and providing strategic guidance to cross-functional teams. The analyst will solve complex problems, present findings to leadership, and may lead less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Establish fleet optimization strategies in partnership with Transportation Services and Functional Area leaders.
• Develop and update fleet policies and procedures related to utilization and asset assignments.
• Measure and report on various projects, providing strategic guidance to cross-functional project teams.
• Solve unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations to leaders and coworkers to gain agreement.
• Apply broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues, integrating industry knowledge into business practices.
• Act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment types typically used in utilities or construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs including Excel, Power BI, and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent fleet experience.
• PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet management processes and regulatory requirements.
• Highly skilled at leading cross-functional project teams.
• Experience leading cross-cutting programs and/or process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced presentation skills to convey complex issues effectively.
• Expertise in communication, interpersonal/collaboration influence, and negotiation.
