About the position

The Principal Business Analyst for Revenue Cycle at Mayo Clinic is a senior-level role focused on managing business partner engagement and leading business analysis initiatives. This position requires collaboration with internal leaders, stakeholders, and vendors to influence and execute strategic objectives while ensuring that solutions meet business requirements. The role emphasizes a data-driven approach to decision-making and involves mentoring team members, developing strategic partnerships, and recommending improvements to operational procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Business Partner Engagement alongside the Division Chair of Revenue Cycle.
  • Lead the planning and execution of business analysis endeavors.
  • Synthesize and drive solutions between operations, work units, suppliers, and technical areas.
  • Provide direction, coaching, training, and mentorship for team members and colleagues.
  • Develop the business analysis approach and ensure solutions satisfy stated requirements.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with internal and external business entities.
  • Research and analyze operational procedures and recommend changes for improvement.
  • Stay current on industry knowledge, practices, and trends that affect the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field, or a Master's degree and 7 years of experience in the same fields.
  • CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional, CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis, or PMI-PBA Professional in Business Analysis preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience and executive presence are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare or science-related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant systems/applications related to workflow and process improvement.
