About the position

The Compliance Business Operations Principal at SoFi is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the compliance framework to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This strategic leadership role involves risk management and collaboration across departments to foster a culture of compliance. The Principal will partner with the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Leadership team to define success criteria and execute the roadmap for SoFi's Compliance buildout, showcasing strengths in strategy, analysis, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution of all Compliance related regulatory commitments, issues and audit findings
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance across all operations
  • Actively define Compliance's long-term and short-term strategy, priorities and goals
  • Drive accountability throughout the organization by setting up operating cadence/rhythm that bridges strategy, execution, and performance management
  • Assume complete ownership of projects and initiatives, managing business case, scope, dependencies, resources, and milestones
  • Provide support for the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Leadership team on key business management deliverables
  • Engage with enterprise Business Operations counterparts on standardized processes such as quarterly planning and board deck preparation
  • Act as an ambassador for the CCO in various forums
  • Build the future of SoFi and work closely with Corporate Development on diligence of potential assets of interest

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs
  • Intimate knowledge of banking laws and regulations
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams that combines strategic thinking with tactical execution
  • Ability to break down challenges/opportunities, build a strategy, write an action plan, identify resources, and project-manage to completion
  • High EQ to build relationships across all levels, departments, and personality types
  • Track record of performance in a high growth, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills and solid business judgment
  • Expert communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or business operations
