About the position

The Principal Cloud Developer at Royal Bank of Canada is responsible for leading the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. This role requires extensive knowledge and skills to perform complex cloud pipelines and build highly scalable and secure cloud services platforms. The position involves hands-on development and integration efforts across various components, ensuring the delivery of automated services to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Build highly scalable and secure cloud services platforms as a visionary and technical lead.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) software components as a hands-on contributor.
• Work with other tracks to lead integration efforts for infrastructure pipelines across components.
• Build automated services to serve internal and external clients.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Go programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms.
• Experience with Goroutine and channel patterns.
• Familiarity with Go frameworks and tools, including dependency management tools and web frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with HashiCorp product suite: Terraform, Sentinel, Vault.
• Experience writing Terraform providers and working with Kubernetes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in an AGILE team.
• Experience at an internet-based company with public cloud platform deployments.
