About the position

The Principal Cloud Developer role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is designed for a hybrid work environment, requiring an average of 2-3 days per week in the office. This position focuses on enhancing and improving the CI/CD processes within the Compute Ops Management (CoM) team, which supports cloud-based management services for Gen10 and later servers. The role involves working with a team of full stack engineers to develop reliable tools and services, ensuring high-quality deployments and maintaining a robust testing framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day activities to enhance and improve CI/CD processes.
  • Participate in SCRUM team deliverables and ceremonies.
  • Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices, including security standards.
  • Advocate for customers and product quality within the organization.
  • Resolve blocking issues and think through root causes for permanent solutions.
  • Provide daily leadership to team members through questions and suggestions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to gather feedback on design or requirements.
  • Lead technical deep-dives, architecture discussions, and cross-training efforts.
  • Participate in support rotations to triage and resolve issues across various environments.
  • Provide technical recommendations and presentations to senior technical staff or leadership.

Requirements

  • Significant work experience in cloud technologies supporting the full development life-cycle of cloud native products.
  • Prior experience in product development and deployments with a focus on quality and accountability.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, Argo, Git, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jira.
  • Development experience in Python or Golang.
  • Ability to create content for monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Humio.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, Cloudfront, RDS) and/or other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of modern aaS APIs and testing principles.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and champion best practices for code quality, performance, and security.
  • Experience in architecture/design/implementation of testing frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience, preferably in electrical or computer/cloud engineering.
  • Typically, 10 or more years of related work experience.
  • Additional skills in Cloud Architectures, Cross Domain Knowledge, Design Thinking, Development Fundamentals, DevOps, Distributed Computing, Microservices Fluency, Full Stack Development, Release Management, Security-First Mindset, User Experience (UX).
