About the position

The Principal Cloud Platform Engineer at CENTEGIX is responsible for the architecture, development, and maintenance of the company's multi-cloud infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring platform stability, scalability, and security, enabling rapid response and reliable service. The engineer will take ownership of infrastructure and developer experience aspects, drive improvements, and contribute to architectural decisions, while also acting as a key incident responder.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
  • Drive the team’s Developer Experience (DevEx) improvements, simplifying processes, tools, and pipelines to enhance productivity and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Platform Engineer and other senior team members to shape and evolve the platform architecture to support current and future business needs.
  • Act as a key incident responder, sharing on-call rotation responsibilities to ensure quick resolution of platform issues, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and prevention.
  • Work closely with the Information Security team to integrate best security practices into infrastructure design and management.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems, ensuring that automation is leveraged to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Development, Product, and Security departments to deliver key platform projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role, with strong automation and scripting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications in AWS or GCP (preferred but not required).
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), containerization, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in automation tools, scripting (Bash, Python, etc.), and infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Security-focused mindset with hands-on experience integrating security into infrastructure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changes and taking on new challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive solutions and long-term fixes.
