About the position

The Principal Consultant, GRC for Proactive Services at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for leading the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team across a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves assessing security risks across various frameworks, advocating for cybersecurity risk management, and providing expert recommendations to enhance clients' security posture. The consultant will manage teams, oversee project progress, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Governance, Risk, and Compliance team across a portfolio of clients.
  • Assess security risks across multiple frameworks and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, audits, and incident response exercises.
  • Manage project progress, track budgets, and communicate with stakeholders about outcomes.
  • Identify security risks and vulnerabilities through stakeholder interviews and documentation reviews.
  • Ensure client controls meet legal, regulatory, and security requirements.
  • Write and communicate audit and compliance results to stakeholders.
  • Scope new opportunities with prospective clients and draft statements of work.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in information security and risk assessments.
  • Experience in professional services and consulting is preferred.
  • Experience managing a team of consultants.
  • Familiarity with GRC tools and technology implementation.
  • Experience with security assessments and drafting findings and recommendations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of computer forensic tools and technologies.
  • Experience with various regulatory standards such as NIST CSF, ISO, GDPR, and HIPAA.
