About the position

The Principal Cybersecurity Analyst - JEMINI Security Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security and functionality of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) communications system. This role involves designing, engineering, testing, certifying, and delivering secure systems while collaborating with an integrated cybersecurity team. The position requires strong knowledge of information assurance technology and DoD cybersecurity certification requirements, along with excellent communication skills to present technical issues to senior officials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and utilize a program-level Cyber Test Plan for testing patches, CTOs, and STIG settings.
  • Create a test artifact template for documenting patches and STIG settings involved in functional tests.
  • Develop and utilize a Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) for Windows and RHEL operating systems.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, system administration, and Test personnel on patch installations and vulnerability rectification.
  • Establish a tracking mechanism and Plan of Action and Milestones for unimplemented patches and STIG settings.
  • Utilize automated security configuration tools to scan and test STIG configurations.

Requirements

  • An active Top Secret clearance is required to start.
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related field, or 9 years of experience without a degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAM - Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP).
  • Working knowledge of eMASS, JOINT SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAM (SAP) IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE (JSIG), Common Criteria, and NIAP.
  • Experience in developing and instituting test plans for integration, verification, system, and field testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Network design and software engineering backgrounds.
  • Experience with static code analysis tools.
  • Potential travel between Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Huntsville, Alabama.
