About the position

The Principal Cybersecurity Engineer role at Raytheon involves defining security architecture, requirements, and design for air defense systems. This position focuses on cybersecurity resilience and threat awareness, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations. The engineer will collaborate with various engineering disciplines to implement effective cybersecurity solutions and conduct audits to maintain security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Define security requirements and design solutions related to security technologies.
  • Perform analysis on security collected data and test results.
  • Identify and implement security design and maintain engineering and security documentation.
  • Define and develop cybersecurity requirements, design, and architecture artifacts, strategy, plans, and policies.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on vulnerability assessments and execute Assessment and Authorization (A&A) events.
  • Collaborate with program and engineering disciplines to ensure cybersecurity solution alternatives.
  • Conduct cybersecurity audits to ensure compliance with security posture.
  • Define security development and test efforts for implementing security controls across various systems and devices.
  • Conduct technical and nontechnical trade studies and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security features and vulnerabilities of operating systems as defined by NSA, NIST, DISA (STIGs) and USCYBERCOM.
  • Experience with network and system security administration, including MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco Systems.
  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-III Compliant Certification (CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework and Program Protection Plan (PPP).
  • Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer.
