About the position

The Principal in Cybersecurity & Incident Response at Charles River Associates (CRA) plays a critical role in leading forensic investigations and incident response efforts for clients facing data security challenges. This position involves overseeing a team of forensic professionals, managing client relationships, and ensuring the effective execution of security and privacy investigations. The Principal will also contribute to business development and maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies, all while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading security and privacy investigations for CRA clients in response to data security matters.
• Performing forensic analysis of digital information using standard computer forensics techniques and tools.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for clients regarding incident response activities.
• Supervising project team execution and leading quality assurance efforts.
• Improving incident response capabilities by evaluating and implementing new tools and processes.
• Maintaining effective relationships with law enforcement agencies for criminal matters.
• Creating and maintaining a leveraged team environment focused on success and expansion.
• Participating in business development efforts by building client relationships and presenting proposals.
• Providing technical assessments and guidance on cybersecurity controls according to various frameworks.
• Assisting with team recruiting and training efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in cyber intrusion investigation, digital forensics, or incident response analysis.
• Ability to effectively lead teams and prioritize multiple projects.
• Experience in a hands-on technical role as an incident responder or malware analyst.
• Experience leading data analytics engagements and managing technology-based best practices.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networks, and IT security.
• Deep knowledge of networking, operating systems, and web technologies.
• Willingness to travel for client projects.
