About the position

Secmation is seeking experienced Principal Cybersecurity Software Development Engineers to join our leadership team. This role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and testing security solutions for embedded devices and defense applications. The position involves hands-on software development and collaboration with various stakeholders to translate advanced technical concepts into practical solutions, particularly in cybersecurity for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and test security solutions for embedded devices and defense applications.
• Collaborate with management, internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to translate technical concepts into reality.
• Develop cybersecurity engineering tools and advanced simulations for applications including self-driving vehicles and AI/ML software protection.
• Work closely with DoD customers to define new programs and ensure technical execution of existing programs.
• Lead geographically distributed technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Current DoD Security Clearance Required (any level).
• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• 10+ years of progressive work experience in embedded software development targeting ARM or similar architectures.
• 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity-focused products.
• Software/security architect level experience in embedded projects using C/C++ and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Strong C/C++ programming skills with design and implementation of security controls across different platforms.
• Experience in a hands-on technical leadership role on contracts with DoD laboratories/organizations.
• Expert level knowledge in cybersecurity technologies with successful program outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience presenting complex technical topics to customers and at conferences.
