About the position

Secmation is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Software Development Engineer to join their leadership team. This role focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and testing security solutions for embedded devices, rather than managing IT security systems. The engineer will collaborate with various teams and customers to translate advanced technical concepts into practical applications, particularly in cybersecurity for embedded systems. The position involves working on projects related to cybersecurity engineering tools, advanced simulations, self-driving vehicles, and AI/ML software protection. The successful candidate will also engage with DoD customers to define and execute programs, with opportunities for further advancement as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and test security solutions for embedded devices.
  • Collaborate with management, internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to translate technical concepts into reality.
  • Develop software products for cybersecurity of embedded systems from concept through delivery.
  • Work on applications including cybersecurity engineering tools, advanced simulation, self-driving vehicles, and protection of AI/ML software.
  • Define new programs and ensure technical execution of existing programs in collaboration with DoD customers.

Requirements

  • Current DoD Security Clearance Required (any level).
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience in embedded software development targeting ARM or similar architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity focused products.
  • Software/security architect level experience leading system design and development in embedded projects based on C/C++ using Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills with design and implementation of security controls across different development platforms.
  • Experience in a hands-on technical leadership role on contracts with DoD laboratories/organizations.
  • Expert level knowledge in cybersecurity technologies with successful program outcomes.
  • Ability to lead geographically distributed technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
