About the position

The Principal Data Analyst role at UnitedHealth Group involves managing and analyzing healthcare data using Informatica within a multi-terabyte Oracle Exadata environment. The position focuses on synthesizing public and private healthcare encounter and enrollment data to support the evaluation and management of the New York State healthcare system. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare claims processing and member data management, along with expertise in Informatica's product suite.

Responsibilities

• Create data mapping and workflow using Informatica PowerCenter to extract, transform and load data into the NY APD target reporting environment
• Conform to Informatica workflow and mapping standards for consistent development
• Conduct ETL optimization, troubleshooting and debugging
• Design and develop test plans for ETL unit testing and integration testing
• Tune and optimize ETL jobs for performance and throughput
• Provide development support to other ETL application resources
• Advocate and enforce secure coding principles as per New York coding policies
• Assist in documenting and maintaining operational procedures for ETL workflow
• Assist with troubleshooting efforts for ETL job issues
• Assist in designing and developing data validation processes using Informatica Data Quality.

Requirements

• 4+ years of healthcare data experience across Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange or commercial payer environments
• 3+ years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter
• Proven extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare claims, adjudication processing, and healthcare analysis
• Experience in code lifecycle management and repositories such as GIT & GitHub

Nice-to-haves

• Proven solid knowledge of HIPAA regulatory security requirements
• Experience in performing data loads to support Optum Symmetry product
• Oracle Exadata and experience with multi-terabyte data structures
• Proven knowledge of Informatica Test Data Manager
• Experience with Informatica Data Quality
• Experience with Master Data Management
• Knowledge of healthcare member data management
