About the position

The Principal Data and Integration Engineer will serve as the technical lead for the replication administration team, overseeing critical tasks such as upgrading, patching, licensing, and vulnerability remediation of servers and software. This role is essential in ensuring that the replication software is accessible when needed and that replication tasks are executed in accordance with production guidelines. The engineer will be responsible for setting up new replication tasks and endpoints, requiring familiarity with various database systems including Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2/Iseries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of ServiceNow, JIRA, and both Linux and Windows environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for this position. With a minimum of 7 years of experience, the candidate should have best practice knowledge of Attunity replication software and AWS administration, as well as familiarity with healthcare applications. The role includes 24/7 on-call responsibilities and will lead agile software development efforts as a Technical Leader. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Principal Data and Integration Engineer will respond to audits, contribute to the RFP process, and ensure that data governance and best practices are adhered to. This position requires a hands-on approach to data and integration engineering, including writing quality code, problem-solving, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and coaching team members. The engineer must understand the broader business context and align IT strategies with business outcomes. The role also involves defining improvements to enhance system reliability, security, and performance, as well as performing rich data visualizations and presentations to senior management. The engineer may manage a team, participate in defining strategic IT objectives, and lead subordinates toward achieving the strategic vision for their products. Acting as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers, the engineer will provide estimates of feasibility, time, and effort for software development tasks, monitor project progress, and guide teams to successful completion. Additionally, the Principal Data and Integration Engineer will assist with budget preparation and management, mentor staff, and evaluate performance. The engineer will continue to engage in hands-on programming and analysis work, track project requests, and regularly update the status of projects. They will also assist in estimating work effort for new project requests and participate in planning for the development and support of functional systems areas. Finally, the engineer will review and evaluate the work of subordinate staff and prepare performance reports, contributing to planning and budgeting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the replication administration team in upgrading, patching, licensing, and vulnerability remediation of servers and software.
  • Provide access to replication software and control replication tasks according to production guidelines.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience, including a minimum of 3-4 years of designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, secure software in IT.
  • Strong critical thinking and demonstrated problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • ServiceNow training is preferred.
