About the position

The Principal Data Architect at IBM is responsible for the comprehensive design, implementation, and management of data platforms that support Apptio's data-driven initiatives. This role focuses on developing a unified data model that integrates with various stakeholder teams, ensuring alignment with the overall goals of Apptio's vision. The architect will oversee data strategy, architecture, integration, security, governance, and performance optimization, while also documenting and monitoring the data platform's effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in a data architect role with a track record of developing large-scale data solutions.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with data integration frameworks and designing data pipelines.
• Proficient in big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and data streaming services (Kafka).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in AI and machine learning model deployment.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD processes.
• Knowledge of metadata management and reporting/BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
• Professional certifications related to data architecture (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
