About the position

The Principal Data Architect at Nike will lead the development and implementation of data strategy and architecture within the Consumer Product & Innovation organization. This role focuses on optimizing the data-product portfolio to drive enterprise integration and enable AI/ML, analytics, and reporting use cases. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to cultivate a data-driven culture and accelerate data modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of data strategy and architecture.
  • Design a scalable and robust data architecture that supports foundational data components.
  • Translate business requirements into data models and architecture for data and AI products.
  • Design and develop data models from conceptual to physical, adhering to best practices.
  • Oversee data contract definition and optimize data design for performance and cost.
  • Develop metadata taxonomies to ensure data interoperability.
  • Establish and communicate data architecture and modeling standards to promote data literacy.
  • Manage the integration landscape to drive simplification and standardization across enterprise data consumers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant education, training, and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge in business domains such as Merchandising, Product Design, and Development.
  • Deep expertise in requirements analysis, data modeling, and implementation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data ingress, egress, data services/APIs, and data warehousing.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS.
  • Proficient in data analysis and SQL, with the ability to write complex queries.
  • Experience with modeling tools like Hackolade, Erwin, and PowerDesigner.
  • Excellent collaboration, time management, and communication skills.
