As a Principal Data Engineer/Architect at Yieldmo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. Yieldmo is an innovative advertising technology company that operates a smart exchange, enhancing the value of ad inventory for both buyers and sellers. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate curiosity and a proactive approach, going beyond the immediate job responsibilities to drive impactful results. Your primary responsibilities will encompass leadership, systems design, and engineering, all aimed at optimizing our data platforms and pipelines. In terms of leadership, you will be comfortable communicating with C-suite executives, presenting clear options and outcomes based on in-depth analysis, and proposing engineering changes that align with the company's strategic goals. Your strong leadership skills will inspire and motivate team members across the organization, guiding them towards a shared vision for the future state of our data infrastructure. You will also be responsible for setting the future state direction for our cloud-based enterprise infrastructure, which supports data analytics, business intelligence, and high-throughput data transformation pipelines. This involves staying abreast of the technology marketplace, evangelizing, designing, delivering, and managing highly optimized data platforms and pipelines with a focus on cost, performance, and usability. You will visualize and communicate design ideas, organizing data and infrastructure processes into reusable code frameworks. In the engineering aspect of your role, you will project plan tasks for large infrastructure initiatives, delegate responsibilities, oversee the development process, and ensure the delivery of bug-free solutions. You will perform code reviews and establish best practices around software development using languages such as Python, Java, and SQL. As an expert in the codebase and business aspects of the systems you work on, you will clearly understand and communicate dependencies within the Yieldmo ecosystem, becoming a domain expert in your area of business.
