About the position

The Principal Data Engineer II will play a crucial role in the hardware development of residential and enterprise routers, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and infrastructure. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure data quality and accuracy, utilizing advanced technologies such as Python, Scala, and Spark, while also providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Manage device and component vendors for hardware certification and testing.
• Develop data acquisition strategies to ensure data accuracy and quality.
• Oversee and develop data models, ETL processes, and visualizations for Wi-Fi testing.
• Utilize Spark for data processing and work with PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Provide technical leadership on data architecture and engineering best practices.
• Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills.
• Collaborate with other departments to leverage data for business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience designing or implementing data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Experience with big data technologies, including Spark.
• Proficiency in Python and Scala for data modeling and ETL processes.
• Experience with data warehouses and cloud computing, specifically AWS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with QA testing processes.
