About the position

The Principal Data Engineer with Collibra at DTCC is responsible for translating strategic business plans into data architecture and strategy implementations. This role involves collaborating with various technology teams to ensure that product and project implementations align with enterprise standards and support the overall strategy. The position emphasizes the development of shared enterprise technology solutions and the promotion of existing data capabilities within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design shared enterprise technology solutions and capabilities.
• Document data solutions, including technical designs and guidelines for enterprise-wide usage.
• Participate in the design, specification, and implementation of business and technology projects, ensuring consistency with enterprise-wide solutions.
• Promote awareness and reuse of existing data capabilities.
• Maintain understanding of existing DTCC applications and technology solutions to demonstrate the reuse of data designs.
• Identify and research opportunities for converging diverse DTCC solutions to a common data architecture.
• Lead collaboration across technology specialties, ensuring alignment among Application Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture teams.
• Maintain understanding of emerging data architecture concepts and technology trends.
• Conduct presentations and education on data capabilities and solutions to relevant areas of DTCC.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of professional data-related experience in the financial services industry.
• 3 years of professional Collibra/Data Catalog/metadata-related experience.
• 3 years of Java/DQL/Python/Groovy development experience.
• Sustained full-lifecycle technical leadership on data-intensive development projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Modern Data Stack including Big Data, Data Fabric, Data Analytics, and AI/ML.
• Working experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Data Quality tools.
• Experience with Data Ingestion tools.
