About the position

The Principal Data & Integration Engineer is a fully remote role focused on leading agile software development efforts while ensuring data governance and best practices are embraced. This position requires hands-on experience with SnapLogic and AWS cloud services, along with proficiency in SQL. The role involves understanding business and IT strategies to align outcomes, performing data visualizations, and mentoring staff while also managing a team. The engineer will act as a primary contact for software development tasks, providing updates and monitoring project progress to ensure successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agile software development efforts as a Technical Leader.
  • Respond to audits and contribute to the RFP process.
  • Ensure data governance and best practices are embraced.
  • Understand business and IT strategy to align with outcomes.
  • Act as a hands-on Data and Integration Engineer writing quality code and assisting with problem solving.
  • Define improvements to increase system reliability, security, and performance.
  • Perform rich data visualizations and presentations to senior management.
  • Manage a team and participate in defining strategic IT objectives.
  • Act as the primary focal point for internal and external customers for software development tasks.
  • Provide estimates of feasibility, time, and effort of tasks.
  • Monitor projects, determine potential problems, and guide them to successful completion.
  • Make assignments and monitor tasks to ensure work is accomplished.
  • Assist with budget preparation and management.
  • Mentor and evaluate staff performance.
  • Track all project requests and update status regularly.
  • Assist in estimating work effort associated with new project requests.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting.

Requirements

  • 6+ years related experience including a minimum of 3-4 years of designing, building, and maintaining high quality, secure software in IT.
  • Hands-on experience with SnapLogic and AWS cloud services (RDS, S3, ECS, Lambda).
  • Proficient with SQL and knowledge of queuing and asynchronous processing.
  • Comfort with Agile/Scrum software development cycles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow training.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Design Thinking methodologies.
