About the position

The Principal Data Science Analyst - GEN AI at Mayo Clinic is responsible for leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance patient care through innovative data-driven solutions. This role involves analyzing complex healthcare data, developing predictive models, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement AI applications that improve healthcare delivery. The position requires a strong technical background in data science, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of large bodies of heterogeneous data to discover new patterns and insights impacting patient health.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
  • Provide consultative services at an enterprise level to various departments and lead scientific projects.
  • Design and develop scripts or software applications for data management and analysis.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis and design complex algorithm systems.
  • Make presentations on assigned projects or proposals.
  • Develop experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses.
  • Lead and direct the interpretation of data analysis and writing reports.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, health science, or other analytical/quantitative fields.
  • Minimum of five years of professional or research experience in data science.
  • Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, statistical data processing, and data science methods.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading technical/quantitative teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of professional or research experience in data science.
  • Experience with data modeling and data exploration tools.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and communication skills.
