As a Principal Data Scientist, you’ll be passionate about research, design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in machine learning, data analytics, and statistical modeling, with a strong ability to drive innovation through data-driven insights. They will be able to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, contribute to open-source projects, and mentor junior team members. A deep understanding of cloud platforms, AI/ML frameworks, and large-scale data systems is essential, as well as a passion for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the AI space to create scalable, impactful solutions for the federal government. Responsibilities

  • Work with a collaborative team, closely with business partners and cloud infrastructure/technology teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Deliver automation AI use cases from pilot design to release.
  • Implement various AI/ML solutions and map success to delivering tangible value.
  • Engage in both experimentation and integration.
  • Apply tools and techniques that enable scalability and reliability of model deployments.
  • Utilize NLP and LLMs for custom use cases.
  • Scope, architect, and evaluate models for use in production.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience within technical domain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 4+ years of experience in data analytics, or master’s degree plus 2 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD.
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source libraries for large scale data analysis such as Dask, Spark, or Ray.
  • 4+ years of experience with ETL, relational databases and data services.
  • Experience with cloud-based machine learning services.
  • Proficiency in Python or C++.
  • Experience in building and deploying ML models using libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace or TensorRT.
