About the position

The Principal Data Scientist, Experimentation at Rokt is responsible for overseeing the health and growth of the marketplace. This role involves defining key metrics, conducting proactive analysis, and collaborating with R&D and Sales to develop strategies that drive marketplace growth. The position requires a strong analytical background and experience in auction theory, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define metrics for tracking the health of the marketplace and build tracking systems to monitor these metrics.
• Conduct proactive analysis and modeling to identify opportunities for marketplace development, including innovative auction mechanics and pricing.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and Sales stakeholders to develop strategies for marketplace growth, including product roadmaps and sales programs.
• Conduct deep dives on marketplace impact to support high-impact launches and sales growth.

Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist.
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Math, or related fields.
• Strong academic or professional experience with the latest auction theory.
• Strong knowledge of Python 3 and SQL.
• Entrepreneurial ownership and a deep desire to push the status quo.
• Strong and clear communication skills.
• Experience working with scaled marketplace and auction-driven businesses.
• Strong analytical/modeling experience tied to business outcomes.
• Applied use of visualization tools such as matplotlib, seaborn, tableau.
• Experience with common Python data science libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scipy.
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, and/or SQL Server.
