Principal Data Scientist

About the position

As a Principal Data Scientist at Reputation, you will be at the center of our mission to derive actionable insights from customer feedback. You will develop algorithms to extract insights, build models to measure their value, and lead the creation of data products from these models. Your role will involve overseeing the lifecycle of core models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying advanced machine learning algorithms, and mentoring team members. You will also engage in strategic planning and contribute to the company's data-driven decision-making framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own multiple core models, overseeing their entire lifecycle from understanding complex business needs to production deployment.
• Strategically collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify transformative opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Drive the application of advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to enhance product features.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to data science team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Engage in high-level strategic planning and contribute to the company's data-driven decision-making framework.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of progressive experience in data science with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to integrate feedback from stakeholders to shape impactful models and data products.
• Demonstrated expertise in using data to address complex problems and drive actionable insights.
• An advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Data Science, Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with advanced machine learning, stochastic modeling, predictive analytics, and building robust data products.
• Exceptional communication skills to convey complex insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, and mastery of related machine learning packages.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data visualization tools.
• Strong leadership abilities demonstrated through team management and project leadership.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing SaaS products using ML/AI is preferred.
• Experience with NLP/text analytics is highly desirable.
