About the position

The Data Scientist role at Magnify focuses on leveraging data to drive revenue expansion and reduce churn for software companies. This position involves building predictive models, understanding customer needs, and innovating data science opportunities, particularly in machine learning and generative AI. The role requires collaboration with engineering teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of data science pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build models that predict future revenue expansion and churn based on various data sources.
• Identify drivers for key events in the customer lifecycle such as renewal, expansion, and cancellation.
• Collect and understand customer needs and stakeholder input to improve model accuracy and relevancy.
• Develop new models and functionalities to expand Magnify's products.
• Provide thought-leadership around future data science and machine learning opportunities.
• Partner with the engineering team to build infrastructure for data science pipelines.

Requirements

• Masters in Computer Science or related field; PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of experience as a data scientist in a high-growth startup environment.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in machine learning, causal inference, experimentation, product analytics, revenue analysis, statistics, and optimization.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity in an early-stage startup environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Passionate about delivering for users and collaborating with teammates.
• Strong bias for action and a track record of moving quickly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with generative AI technologies.
• Familiarity with data science infrastructure and tools.
