The Principal Data Scientist at Sovrn Holdings will lead and scale data science initiatives, focusing on enhancing ad targeting, bidding strategies, and audience-building innovations. The position requires deep expertise in machine learning and data analytics to optimize programmatic advertising capabilities, with a strong emphasis on collaboration across product, engineering, and commercial teams to align data-driven strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to optimize ad targeting and bidding strategies.
  • Leverage machine learning and statistical modeling to build audience segments for personalized ad experiences.
  • Ensure user privacy is prioritized while developing advanced personalization techniques.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in machine learning, digital advertising, and data privacy regulations.
  • Contribute to the overall data strategy to drive innovation in the digital media ecosystem.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on deep ad tech and programmatic data analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data science models into production systems.
  • Guide and mentor Data Scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and learning within the team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics, with a strong focus on digital advertising.
  • Experience applying data science in ad tech, programmatic advertising, and the broader digital media ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP) and MLOps frameworks (Kubeflow, MLFlow).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying machine learning models to solve business problems, particularly in programmatic advertising or digital marketing.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing data science talent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
