About the position

The Principal Data Scientist role at Verizon focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance network performance and customer experience. Responsibilities

• Drive data-derived insights across the business domain by developing advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
• Direct data gathering, assess data validity, and synthesize data into large analytics datasets to support project goals.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data using data mining, statistical, machine learning, and deep learning tools.
• Prepare supporting documents and reports for projects.
• Create visualizations from modeled data for executive and engineering consumption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Four or more years of experience in advanced analytics and predictive modeling in a consulting role.
• Experience with all phases of end-to-end analytics projects.
• Experience building models using statistical techniques such as supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, deep learning, and text classification.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, PySpark, Scala, and/or other languages and tools.
• Experience with cloud-centric technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree.
• Four or more years of Wireless Network (Telecommunications or Routing) experience.
• Exposure to RAN systems performance and planning domains.
• Experience with Google Cloud (GCP).
• Experience in data lake (Hadoop), SQL, ETL.
• Problem solving, analytical, and research skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience presenting to and influencing functional leaders and partners.
