The Principal Data Solutions Architect at PG&E plays a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise's data strategy and architecture. This position is integral to the Data Solutions Architecture Team, which is tasked with developing long-term, enterprise-wide data solutions and ensuring excellence in the application of data, analytics, and information to address critical business challenges. The architect will contribute to the Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy and Roadmap, focusing on innovative and cost-effective solutions to business problems through technology and best practices. This role involves socializing the strategy with business and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise needs, developing architectural guidance documents, and mentoring other architects and project team members. The architect will also institute practices that ensure the strategy is well understood and provides clear direction for business and IT activities. In this role, the Principal Solutions Architect will have a direct impact on the day-to-day operations of data solutions and delivery, significantly affecting the safety and efficiency of California's energy services. Collaboration with technical leaders and executive leadership is essential to define standards and operational boundaries for data management across the enterprise. The architect will be expected to own the Information Architecture and related Technical Architecture for specific sub-domains, ensuring that both IT and business stakeholders adhere to established architectural guidance, standards, policies, and practices. Additionally, the architect will engage in root cause analysis, reliability planning, and performance monitoring to enhance system reliability and performance. This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and on-site presence based on business needs.
