About the position

The Principal, Data Strategy role is focused on leading data-driven transformations for clients globally. This position is responsible for defining and executing data strategies, ensuring alignment with client goals, and driving the adoption of data-driven marketing solutions. The role requires both strategic oversight and hands-on execution, working closely with various teams to enhance the use of data in marketing and technology applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition of Digital, Data, and Technology learning agendas.
  • Ensure data strategy and measurement frameworks align with client goals and drive adoption.
  • Collaborate with planners and strategy directors to define audience frameworks and data strategies for brands.
  • Grow the use of DMP and CDP in data-driven use cases and campaigns.
  • Support the development of technology-based platforms and applications as a data strategist.
  • Define and implement data-driven use cases and measurement strategies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in data technology and strategy, ensuring a cohesive technology ecosystem.
  • Guide planners on utilizing data for annual planning insights.
  • Develop education programs for Data for internal and client audiences.
  • Communicate data strategy needs as inputs into media partnership strategies.
  • Lead a testing program to evaluate new vendors and partners for data and technology delivery.
  • Execute data-driven marketing programs across agencies, supporting digital directors in strategy development.
  • Provide strategic direction on data-driven thought leadership for media partners.
  • Embed new data-driven approaches into the Human Experience Planning framework.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of data and data-driven marketing, with the ability to interpret client requirements and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Expertise in data types, sources, and quality, with experience in leveraging data for activation and measurement.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills to simplify complex digital concepts.
  • Ability to architect innovative digital marketing strategies and integrated solutions.
  • High sense of ownership and drive, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Aggressive appetite for learning and skill development.
  • Ability to establish and grow senior client relationships.
  • Experience in motivating and leading cross-functional teams to project completion.
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and drive account growth.
